Ask "What are all the possible positions
a person could take on this issue?"

Sometimes people are more comfortable responding to a question that masks their disclosure and gives them permission to be candid – this question provides that opportunity. If you want to outline a broad range of perspectives quickly in a potentially tense situation, give people this opportunity to disclose their perspectives safely.
